Tate Edward

My sister, Jaime, had her baby!

Welcome to the world, Tate Edward.
I love this picture of Ted holding his new son.

You are going to be a great dad, Ted.  There's not a lot you can do with an infant but as Tate grows and begins doing new things those moments of bonding will be strengthened.  There's nothing like a Dad's influence on his son.  He will be your biggest fan.

Jaime, I'm so happy that you are a Mom.  I know you've dreamt of this moment for years.  You are an amazing woman, smart and intelligent.  Tate is lucky to have you to care for him and guide him into this crazy world.

Sending lots of hugs and kisses to our little man, Tate.

Orchids!

I'm so excited!  My Orchid is blooming!
I love the blooms.  They are big, vibrant and...spectacular.

A couple months ago I got another orchid which was already in bloom with a few buds on the end of the stem.  After a few days the buds fell off.  But then we noticed it was growing again!  I think a few more blooms will appear soon!

writing and riding

Angela has a great heart.
She keeps writing things on her hand such as:
"I love J's"
Which means: I love Joshua and Jeremy.
or she has written:
"I love lil J"
(I love little Jeremy)
Or:
"Remember to Include Jeremy"
(this was when I was trying to encourage them to make it a point to include Jeremy into their play)

Last Monday Andrew had a bicycle race.
We woke up early and went along to cheer him on.

He did a amazing and came in 5th!
GREAT JOB HONEY!

Towards noon they had a kids race.
Jeremy's first race.  He LOVED it!

He's ready to get off training wheels, but hasn't yet gotten up the courage yet.  I know when he does he's going to be like lightening.

Above:
Angela is in the center, wearing pink
Joshua is on the other side of her, in a dark blue long sleeve shirt

Below, Joshua is racing to the finish.
He did a great job staying at the front of the group.

Angela rode hard to the finish.
Pure determination.

After the race all the kids were treated to ice cream cones!

Jeremy's ice cream "plopped" off his cone after the first couple licks.
:(
Joshua and Angela both didn't hesitate a moment to share their ice cream with him
...that made it extra sweet.

Update on Jeremy

Jeremy
This little guy continually makes us smile!
It didn't take long for him to settle into the Young family.
He loves routine and dependability...and yet he craves ADVENTURE and spontaneous FUN.

His middle name is:
Curiosity.

He reminds us continually of Curious George.  Most of the time when he gets into trouble it isn't because he purposely wants to be difficult, he's just curious.  We are trying to teach him the principle of cause and effect:  if you do _____...it results in ______.   He never had one-on-one individual teaching about thinking through his actions before plowing ahead.

When it's our Family Night, and the word "game" is mentioned,

Jeremy raises his eyebrows and shouts  "GAME TIME?!"

Jeremy is most content when helping with a project.  He likes working with his hands and accomplishing things.
Whether it's cleaning out the dishwasher,

helping Daddy build a bed for Mommy,

cooking,
dusting,
laundry, ...you name it!

He is my big helper.

He follows Angela around everywhere.  She's taught him how to play and imagine, paint and color, she reads books and does puzzles with him.
He loves her so much!

He looks up to Joshua and wants to do everything that he is doing.
His big brother, Joshua, loves him dearly.

They are wrestling buddies (Joshua is great about giving good competition, and showing his strength with out hurting him)...Jeremy pretty good about holding his own too!
Whenever Joshua is home from school he is always available to help Jeremy tie his shoes, pour him some milk, brush his teeth...they are a good team.

We continually remind him of Haiti by showing pictures and videos of when we brought him home.
Haiti has been on the news a lot these days, because of the earthquake, and everytime Jeremy asks, "MY Hati?!"  Also, every person in Haiti, on the T.V., he calls "his friend in Haiti".
It is such a sweet thing!
